The Orange Ball Of Fire!

Was driving westward on my way to work early this morning.
As the sun started to rise, I could see an orange glow in my rearview mirror and orange reflections in both sideview mirrors.
I tried to peek at the rising sun from the rearview mirror.
Ummmm.... wow!
But, of course, I still have to keep my eyes on the road.
So then I decided to stop and take the time for a good look.
After all, I still have plenty of time to spare.
When I got to the top of one of the hilly stretches on the highway, I pulled over and got out of my car.
What a great view!

Totally worth every minute it took to stop for this photo before continuing on my way to work.
And now, I am also feeling satisfied that I did take the time to stop after all.
If only more people would stop to smell the roses, you would get to enjoy beautiful sights like this!

The Little Hill

I have often taken photos of this little hill when it is raining and all misty.
And though it had showered last night, the sky had cleared up by morning.
Before the sun breaks through and while it is all quiet and still.
The sky is in total splendour beyond this little hill.

It promises of a another beautiful day...

Or should I say... "red skies in the morning, a shepherd's warning?"

An Urban Dawn...

I have been waiting for the chance to go exploring during the magical hours of the early morning.

Finally I did get up early today and with plenty of time on my hands.

Too bad there wasn't any real sunrise though.

It was a blue dawn in an urban setting.

Another Dawn

...but now that it is the monsoon season, there is so much more cloud cover on the horizon.  Also, there weren't any fishing boats going out to see at dawn this morning and everything was quite still.

It almost felt desolate but for the grasses swaying ever so lightly in the breeze...

Dawn

I simply love the early hours of the morning.

And I just do not tire looking at the dawn skies.

The way the colours swirl and mix around on the palette of the sky is always different each dawn and always will be.

And just before the sun peeks out from the horizon, the colours become even more intense, giving you a glimpse of what to expect for the day to come.

In the cool of the early morning, these fishermen go out to sea to start on the day's catch.

And then, the sunrise!

The beginning of another hot day...

...as the sun rose higher in sky!

Life on the island begins to wake up.....

A bee has started collecting nectar.

While the Acisoma panorpoides is finding it difficult to get started.

A male Crocothemis servilia basking in the morning sun.

And another Crocothemis servilia getting warmed up to start the day.

Although still rather early, this pair of Ischnura senegalensis is already in wheel.

And life goes on.....

From Dawn Till Dusk...

Dawn breaks...

Going out to sea at dawn.

Sunrise!

All still and calm in the morning.

Still at anchor.

A village still in slumber...

Rise and shine!

Getting an early start and living it up at Cenang Beach...

A Grasshopper... thinking about breakfast?

A Water Skater on a pond...

Another Grasshopper feeding on a ginger flower.

A Shield Bug... this guy's got a big honker!

Puddling butterflies!

A Common Green Frog staying cool in the shade.

A Skink basking in the late afternoon sun.

And, all too soon... it was dusk!

Of course, there were lots of dragonflies and damselflies in between too.

Quite a day!

What a day!

This Morning...

It was pouring cats and dogs at 3am in the morning but the rain had stopped way before daybreak.

It was not the most spectacular sunrise.

Still, it makes for a beautiful dawn and an interesting sky.

Looking east there's the sunrise coming up but over on the western shores, it was storming up...

The way I see it... "This Morning".

Skies

Since I got up early this morning, I thought I'd go catch that witching hour at twilight.  But then I got caught up with some other stuff instead and was a bit too late.....

Nevertheless, I did catch the good sol breaking through over the hills and caught the morning's first rays on my face.

The highway early this morning.

The skies at dawn.

The sun rising behind Gunung Raya...

...and then caught behind some clouds.

Early morning haze in the hills beyond the padi fields.

And, finally... blue skies over Langkawi.

This is bliss.....
